Harley Benton HQS «High Quality Strings»: no they aren’t

So I’ve got these to test them. Cheap, 2.88€ a set. Colored ends. Pretty cardboard box.

But how good are they?

After putting around 50 hours in (on the StripCaster): they aren’t. Right after putting them on, the wound strings were already lacking in high freq content but now it’s like they’re 10 years old. No sustain left, all mud.
The nickel plating is so thin it’s worn off to the copper layer!

And I don’t have particularly corrosive hands.

The plain E B and G are allright though, and than make the sound more unbalanced – bright plain string and dull wounds don’t sound good at all.

I guess with the price like that I could change them every week but why bother.

I’m back to my EB slinkies
